Adams + Associates was the design firm that provided services through design development for both phase 1, and phase 2 of the Xuzhou Outlets. Phase one opened Jan 2023.   The developer requested an American design by American architects. The master plan connects a proposed high-speed rail station, an adjacent large residential complex, a small amusement park, and a neighboring national park with the outlets.   The design features 2-levels of open-air retail with rooftop parking, 2 parking decks, and a 29-story residential tower all interconnected with covered walkways,  elevated sky bridges and large open promenades.  This design had to adhere to the construction methods of China, which is predominantly a poured-in-place concrete structure using the metric system.
