Our firm collaborated with the South Iredell Volunteer Department and its building committee to design the Mooresville Fire Station #12, providing the initial program and design concept. The L-shaped footprint of the building divides into two primary zones, with office, administration, and living quarters on one end and the apparatus bays on the other. Upon entering the site, a porte-cochere leads visitors and staff to the administration. A prominent feature of the design is the syncopation of the roof plane along the apparatus bay. The use of red and grey accents throughout the building aligns with the department's branding.
